Authors & Reviewers

Every byline meets a standard before it appears.

We publish under a real name only once that name meets every item below. Until then, the slot stays visibly open rather than carrying a name, a title or a photograph that doesn't meet the bar — we would rather show you an honest gap than invent someone to fill it.

What a byline has to meet

Before a name, a title or a photograph appears next to any page on this site, the person behind it meets all of the following:

  • A real, verifiable name — never a pen name, a placeholder, or a name borrowed from unrelated work.
  • Relevant, disclosed experience in compensation, recruiting or careers, stated plainly rather than implied by title.
  • A current photograph of the actual person, not a stock image, an illustration or a generic avatar.
  • A public profile a reader can check on their own — somewhere outside OfferMettle that confirms who this person is.
  • Direct involvement in writing or reviewing the specific page carrying their name — a byline is never reused across pages that person did not touch.
  • Agreement to the editorial policy, including where AI assisted a draft and where a human wrote or checked the result.
  • Accountability for corrections — if a page under their byline turns out to be wrong, they stand behind fixing it.

Current byline slots

These are the two byline roles used across OfferMettle's content. Neither is filled yet — each is shown as an open slot, not a placeholder person.

Author

Writes and stands behind the compensation and negotiation content on this site.

TODO(human): name, credentials, public profile link and photograph not yet assigned. This slot will not carry a name until someone meets the standard above.

Reviewer

Reads each piece before it publishes and checks it against the standard above.

TODO(human): name, credentials, public profile link and photograph not yet assigned. This slot will not carry a name until someone meets the standard above.

Why you see a placeholder instead of a name

A byline is a claim: this specific person wrote or checked this specific page, and stands behind it. We won't make that claim for someone who doesn't exist, wasn't involved, or whose credentials we haven't verified — that would be worse than publishing with no byline at all. The rules governing how we assign, review and correct authorship live in our full editorial policy covering how bylines, review and AI assistance are handled. If you find something on this site that's wrong regardless of whose name is or isn't attached to it, use the corrections page to tell us what to fix.
